Dynamic Yoga teacher training is taught by Godfrey Devereux and José Luis Cabezas in English and Spanish.

LEARN TO TEACH YOGA SKILLFULLY, SAFELY AND EFFECTIVELY

Powerful, unique and comprehensive this training has been developed over the last 20 years by Godfri, one of the world’s most influential and respected yoga teachers, known for the quality, originality and clarity of his teaching. Four of his many published works are available into Spanish: ‘Dynamic Yoga’, ’15 Minute Yoga’, ‘Yoga Unveiled’ and ‘The Little book of the Bandhas’. He has developed an entirely pragmatic, comprehensive and effective organisation of the yoga method that allows it to be taught with remarkable simplicity and effectiveness. Joseluis is one of only two Senior Teachers of the Dynamic Yoga Training Method, and the only one teaching in Spanish.

This method, based on natural principles of learning and teaching, allows yoga to be taught from the body so as to access the deeper unity of mind body and spirit. This unique Yoga Teacher Training is based on systematic internal action and attentiveness rather than information, ideology or tradition. You will be trained to access the depths and subtleties of mind and spirit from concrete and precise phsyical action, and how to do the same for others. We will explore in practice almost 200 yoga techniques within the context of six practice series that together sensitise, awaken, integrate, strengthen and open the body systematically and permanently. The sequentiality of the four dynamic series Godfrey Devereuxallows the body to deepen its capacity for integrated movement and action without any struggle through the step by step progression of Vinyasakrama. These four series are complemented by two passive series that support deep internalisation of awareness within physical action while inviting deep rejuvenation and self healing.

The theoretical aspect of the course is woven into the practice, presentation and exploration of the practical techniques of the yoga method and covers the following themes:

  • Theory of universal dynamics underlying perception, knowledge and action in the human the body. This provides the underlying principles of awareness, perception, movement and action that determine safe and effective yoga practice.
  • Theory of applied anatomy, physiology, respiration, biomechanics and kinesiology: how physical action, movement and respiration take place relative to conscious awareness and intent..
  • Theory of somatic learning: how to use the body’s neuromuscular processes to develop a progressive and permanent structural and energetic integration (vinyasakrama).
  • The art of teaching: clarifying the pragmatic principles through which yoga postures, pranayama and meditation can effectively be taught.
  • The principles of sequencing, modification and adjustment.
  • Group Dynamics.
  • Communication Dynamics.

The practical aspect of the Training includes the following:

  • Godfrey DevereuxPragmatic exploration of applied anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and kinesiology as the technical methodology of yoga posture and pranayama practice.
  • In depth exploration of 40 dynamic postural techniques (namaskar, vinyasa, ullola), and the use of movement as a sensitising and awakening preparation for the integrating power of stillness.
  • In depth exploration of 150 yoga postures and their underlying structural, mechanical and energetic principles and effects.
  • In depth exploration of the Seven Bandhas.
  • In depth exploration of the Spiral Dynamic of Integration.
  • In depth exploration of Ujjayi breathing and other pranayama practices.
  • In depth exploration of the Dynamics of Integrity as the basis for establishing functional and structural integrity.
  • Practical training in six modifiable and progressive vinyasa sequences.
  • Practica application of the Art of Vinyasakrama.

The Course is made up of the following three modules.

Participants in each individual module will receive comprehensive notes in spanish or english outlining the techniques and sequences being explored.

Each day includes 8 hours of training with a break for lunch.

SIX DAY FOUNDATION COURSE - March 2011

Godrey DevereuxExplores horizontal, vertical, inverted and supine postures, ullolas and xandranamaskar in two Vinyasa series which provide a sound, pragmatic basis for somatic re-education through sensitised integration.

You will learn the following series, and explore in depths their component techniques (ullola, vinyasa, namaskar, asana, bandha and pranayama):

VINYASASUXMASYA
This is a gentle practice series begun lying down. It allows the fundamental dynamics of the yoga method to be clarified and assimilated without strain or struggle. It awakens and softens the back muscles and the hip sockets. It is a nourishing vinyasa that quietens the mind as it awakens the body gently.

VINYASAXANDRASYA
This Practice Sequence awakens and intergrates the whole body. It does this primarily through movement used as a preparation for stillness. It is simlutaneously a softening and energising practice. Its accesibility allows the fundamental dynamics of the yoga method to be clarified and assimilated in an energising, awakening vinyasa.

The first four days are dedicated to exploration of the methodology of all the ullola, vinyasa, asana, bandha and pranayama of the two series. The last two days focus on teaching methodology, including how to vary, modify and adapt the two sequences and their techniques.

SIX DAY INTERMEDIATE COURSE - June / July 2011

explores the postures and sequencing of the VINYASAXIKITSA and VINYASAMERASYA Practice series.

Godfrey DevereuxThese Vinyasa Training Series includes standing postures, lunges, extensions, rotations, forward bends and backbends ansd focus on establishing the bandhas in the whole body while mobilising the motor joints and strengthening the deep muscles of the core.

You will learn the following series, and explore in depths their component techniques (ullola, vinyasa, namaskar, asana, bandha and pranayama):

VINYASAMERASYA
This Practice Sequence establishes deep, strength in the core spinal muscles, while opening the supporting joints of the upper and lower body. It is a maintaining practice that provides deep nourishment to body and mind. It invites deep internalisation of awareness, and intimacy with body, mind and spirit while clarifying the Seven Universal Actions of Yoga Posture Practice.

VINYASASUPTASYA
This Practice Sequence softens, opens and nourishes the whole body. It is done all on the back or shoulders and provideds a rejuvenating counterpoint to more dynamic practice sequences and is especially suited to evening practice or when tired or recuperating from illness.

The first four days are dedicated to exploration of the methodology of all the ullola, vinyasa, asana, bandha and pranayama of the two series. The last two days focus on teaching methodology, including how to vary, modify and adapt the two sequences and their techniques.

EIGHT DAY ADVANCED COURSE - September 2011

José Luis CabezasExplores the postures and sequencing of the VINYASASUPTASYA, and VINYASADANDASYA Practice series. These Vinyasa Training Series focus on mobilising the pelvis and strengthening the abdomen and back.

You will learn the following series, and explore in depths their component techniques (ullola, vinyasa, namaskar, asana, bandha and pranayama):

VINYASAXIKITSA
This Practice Sequence establishes the bandhas in the whole body, as the basis of recovering phsyical and energetic integrity. It mobilises and strengthens all the motor muscles and joints, and allows each part of the body to embody the Dynamics of Integrity and the Spiral Dynamic of Integration.

VINYASADANDASYA
This Practice Sequence focusses on forward bends and prone backbends to release and strengthens the back and abdomen, while improving the mobility of the spine and pelvis. The series generates deep strength and flexibility in the spine.

The first four days are dedicated to exploration of the methodology of all the ullola, vinyasa, asana, bandha and pranayama of these two series. The last four days focus on teaching methodology, including how to vary, modify and adapt all the techniques of all 6 sequences.
